I strongly believe that the mission of the Human Resources Department is to act as a company’s most important resource generator. It is a proven and provable fact that people, rather than procedures or logistics, lead companies to success.
I have worked with Amalia Picleanu, managing partner of Tandem Consulting, in such a position as "generator" of "fresh blood" for a successful pharmaceutical company. For two years, thanks to her team, our organization gained successful people, recruited and selected precisely for their capacity to make good things happen.
In my turn, I have taken part in assessment centers organized by Tandem Consulting. Modesty stops me from saying whether in my case Tandem Consulting made a good choice. But I can safely state that, in the case of the other colleagues – some of them recruited for the team that I headed, some others “hunted” to become my partners in the management team – the human resources consultant made the right decisions.
Was it intuition? Or the result of education and of the (many) years of experience in this knotty field? I admit, I have no idea.
